Can anyone help me,I cant send or receive MMS on my Samsung galaxy S,I have the mobile data activated and have confirmed the apn settings are correct from the virgin mobile help page and have re-entered these numerous times, except it says to have the apn type set to defult, supl .i cant choose this option it only lets me choose either, internet, mms or internet+mms   I have tried all three and still doesn't work,i tried turning on and off the auto receive function in message settings, still doesn't work, tried sending a mms to myself as someone suggested, still doesn't work!!! it just keeps saying download of message unsuccessful and when i try send one,it just sits there trying to send for an eternity.Would having the phone rooted be the problem?   I have put my Sim in my old LG phone and i can send and receive MMS fine,so not sure what the problem is???   for being a so called smart phone you would think there wouldn't be an issue with something as simple as this......SMART PHONE MY ╩înl!!!!!!   BTW I'm in Australia, not sure if this makes any difference to peoples help replies?

How options do you have in the APN list?

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS take advantage of having Google on your phone! Save all contacts to GMail and they never get lost, wiped, replaced etc.

Titanium Backup for apps and data. SMS Backup & Restore for messages.

If you have any questions, please do a search before posting a new thread and if you can't find anything, then try to put the new thread into the correct forum.

I have 2 options in my apn list Virgin and Optus  I have also tried just having one apn option, either Virgin or Optus as someone has suggested before but this didn't make any difference either, still couldn't send or receive MMS

Are you able to access the internet via any browser?

If yes, take copy the Proxy and Port numbers and copy them into MMS Proxy and MMS Port and make sure authentication is set to PAP.

Yes I can access the internet fine,no problems there, the MMS proxy and MMS port numbers were already the same as the internet proxy and port I just had to change the authentication type to PAP.But this still didn't make any difference, still cant send or receive,I think I've tried just about every suggestion i have read on these forums....it's driving me nuts!!!!    HUH?

Ok so I think I have finally worked this out.I ended up having to create 2  new apn's, 1 with all the optus settings in it but only have it set to MMS  and 1 with all the Virgin settings in it but only set to internet. This seems to have solved my problem of not being able to send or receive MMS.....for now.
This seems weird to me as my Sim card is a pre paid virgin one,but I guess seeing as virgin and optus are a joint company, seems that you need both in the apn list,1 for MMS and the other for internet access.

Well done. You managed it all by yourself.

Shall I mark this thread as SOLVED then?
