Calendar sync to Google Calendar never finishes

On Froyo, it seems whatever I do, my SGS is rendered useless if I try to sync with my Google Calendar. Whenever it starts to sync the calendar, all other functions - even making and answering calls takes ages, and syncing never ends. The Google account is on my own domain under Google Apps Business.

I just got the phone and never really ran anything than Froyo, so I can't tell if this was introduced with Froyo. I can sync fine with the Exchange server at work.

To remedy I tried:
-Factory resetting several times
-Removing the 16GB SD card - and Factory resetting again.

When I finally can access the setting to disable sync for the calendar of my Google account, it seems to continue trying to sync, and the only thing I can do is to shut off the phone again and leave it off for at least five minutes before turning it on again. If I turn it on too quickly it will try to sync the Google Calendar again and slow down the whole phone again.

Is this a known issue with a fix?

You can export your google calendar in settings of the calendar, then wipe it, and then try to sync it with the phone, I guess this will help for the time being, then you can import your calendar and try to sync it again. Note: you must be aware that when you export and import your google calendar it won't be exact the same as it was. You will have to spend some time to adjusting it to it's previous state but it will take you for sure less time than entering all agendas manually.. Maybe this will help..

I am just making suggestions. You could check which frequencies are not available in Google calendar on line and remove those ones.
