Hi,

When I turned on my phone this morning I noticed it was vibrating more than usual (normally a pulse or 2 when it wakes up completely). I checked only to find that I had an error message "The application Calendar Storage (process com.android.providers.calendar) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." with the only option "Force close". First try was to force close it, the screen blinked and 10 seconds later I had the same error. Next step was a restart (turn off the phone and turn it back on), same error even before the media scanning was completed. My last attempt before resorting to the internet was to pop the battery and try again, same result.

My searches have turned up the fact that this error happens often enough, and has a really simple fix, go clear the calendar cache. Unfortunately that's not possible. I have a widget running that shows a clock with my schedule for the day, thus this calls the calendar as soon as it starts up. I tried to remove it, but the error appears so fast I don't even get a chance to select the widget, never mind drag it to trash.

So, any suggestions what I might be able to do?

For interest's sake, I updated to 2.2 in the last few weeks, I don't know if that would have triggered anything...

Thanks,

~Reht

Try starting up in safe mode by trying the suggestions in this XDA thread. I have gotten in occasionally by wiping my screen during boot up. Only factory programs will install and no widgets; you will see SAFE MODE displayed in the bottom left corner of your screen if you are using TouchWiz. You should then be able to go into settings>applications>manage applications and clear the cache. To get out of safe mode just reboot your device.

Try the search or check the how to thread before asking a question.

I have the same problem. I've spent all this morning trying to fix it.

SAFE MODE
Eventually i got into safe mode, but still i get the same error.
Here's what helped me get into safe mode:

TASK MANAGER
Also, i've discovered that regardless of the error, once the phone is on, keep down the home button (the middle physical one). it will give you the possibility to go in task manager and uninstall other apps. I've uninstall everything, but i still get the looping error.

HARD RESET
This is something that i cannot do. Another set of explanations on how to hard reset, other than what is on this site, would be much appreciated.

Done!

I solved the problem by mindlessly pressing the physical buttons of the phone, in hope of finding how to hard reset it. I've noticed that from a certain point of pressing various combinations, the phone started to take longer to reopen. Eventually, it did... It prompted me to press different settings of the keyboard, wifi settings and such, just like when i bought it.

there was no reset menu in all this ordeal whatsoever
