I just bought a Galaxy S and loved all the features until I tried to sync it with Outlook on our exchange server. There was no problems with contacts. But my email is a nightmare.  It operates at a snail's pace when it does not freeze my system altogether.  My calendar will not sync. I have cleared the cache but that did nothing. Any advice?

Do you have other apps also trying to sync? Maybe it's a queing issue where you have all these other apps trying to do their thing at the same time, thus causing problems for your other apps. You could try setting everything to manually sync. I notice that when I have things set to auto sync, all my apps that need to be backed up all run, hogging bandwidth and slowing everything down. This is just a possibility, hopefully someone with exchange experience can chime in.

I have the same problem since I've upgraded to Froyo...
Even if I use with Wifi or if I don't automatically sync, the program freezes my whole phone...

Before the upgrade there wasn't any problem with the email-application.

This is the solution:

Installed the "z4root" and "one click lag fix" from the market.

After the installation of z4root i have started one click lag fix . I have started as root one click lag fix and i have started in sequence

    * EXT2 tools
    * OneClickLagFix 2.2

After a request reboot my phone works smooth and the Email app works flawless again.

After struggling with this issue for weeks... I found a solution, at least one that worked for me.  Hopefully it will be helpful to others as well.

From Outlook, I changed the calendar view to list mode, deleted any entries prior to 12/2010.   Once I had those dates cleared out I noticed approximately a dozen entries with no subject line, only dates and times.   After I deleted those entries, the Galaxy immediately started pulling Calendar info.

The short version, I believe if you check your list view of your Calendar and look for incomplete entries and delete those... hopefully you'll see the Galaxy pulling your calendar info.

Good Luck

was going to try Lagfix .. but saw posts that it was not for 2.2.1
While trying to find way forward ... downloaded KIES 2.0   it straight away offered 2 upgrades, I upgraded to 2.2.2 and then 2.3.3

The issue with Calendar was cleared now works OK.

Not sure if there is any Lagfix out for 2.3.3
