I'm having a problem with my galaxy s, the phone can be heard turning on and I can hear if I have  a msg or if my phone rings but the screen is black,the back button and menu button light up. I don't get anything on the screen on startup like other members have mentioned.
I tried the 3 button combo as suggested but I cant get it into download mode.

It's called SOD (sleep of death).
Long press power button to reboot.

I have a GT I9003, I am not able to reboot it, stuck at Samsung logo (the logo brightens up for 3 - 4 times and then again it goes in the same loop). I have tried factory reset with the key combinations but to no avail. What can be the possible cause? is it bricked? Please help. Thanks so much

its due to some newly installed application on ur mobile ...
just uninstall the recently installed application... the black screen problem will solved..

And a good news for you, that I recently found, or might be i am right, that when your memory is full due to several reasons, particularly on browsing you get lot of temp files and junks, which interrupts your total functionality in the background. So you have to constantly clear up the junk files accumulating. Then i thought of installing some good app, and find "Fast reboot" app among many such app, which clears lot of memory instantly within seconds!! After installing and clicking it as often, i never seen any black screen there after my goodness!! You just try my friends and share your experience here please!
