Coming from Apple, where everything works, and everything's all very nice indeed, was just wondering if there is anyway before I reformat my stupid Galaxy, if there is a way to backup all your apps, settings, playlists, etc, like in iTunes?

The last couple of times I have upgraded my phone I have lost everything and have had to write down what I had installed/ etc and redownload it all again, set up homescreens, bla bla bla..

Would be nice if there is a backup solution that I don't know of thanks.

I use mybackup. It allows you to do an sd or online backup of apps and data. Some apps however dont allow full access so you still may lose some app specific data even if youre able to recover or install the app itself. Still better than installing from scratch.
