Need all to be able to say if this is Build Issue.

The other users need to pitch in with their build if they are having the same issue.

I have replicated the problem and any help would be good.

My alarm is set for 7.30 am, the last two mornings I woke up at 7, first I turned it off pressing by pressing the little clock icon next to the alarm time to make sure it's off. The clock icon disappeared from the status bar but the alarm still went off at 7.30.

The next morning i did the same but this time after turning off the alarm turned my phone fully off then back on at 7.15am. The alarm didn't come on.

My build numbers are...

Firmware 2.2
Baseband I9000ADJP3
Kernel version 2.6.32.9 root@SE-S608#1
Build number FROYO.ADLP6

If I goto Kies it says my firmware version is PDA:JP6 / PHONE:JP3 / CSC:JP3 (O2U)

I'm with O2 and Kies says that my firmware is up to date.

Sorry, your post was lost in my links.

I read your post but wanted to respond a little later, but I completely forgot I was responding to this, and I remembered this thread.

Does that link help?

Peace.

Thanks for the tip, although you might as well have said get an iPhone!

I assume after I spent the time to post my firmware data you checked and agree that there is an issue?

Of course I know there are other Alarm apps out there, but it would be nice if the one that comes with it worked. Last night I downloaded an alarm app and deleted the alarm in the existing app... It still came on this morning even though it was deleted!!!

Is Samsung just not bothered?

Glenn.

You need to understand, that every newer version that is released has bug fixes.

Samsung released 2.2.1 or JS5 which is basically Version J28.5 of Froyo.

Calculation is done like this

J is for Froyo. S = 0-9 + A~S = 9 + 19 = 28.5

So your version is JP6. ADLP6 is likely your carrier designation of the firmware.

So the same way.
J is for Froyo. P = 0-9 + A~P = 9 + 16 = 25.6

So that is J25.6 compared to the newest J28.5

The First Letter Designates the Major Version of the OS. (i.e. Froyo, Eclairs, GingerBread)
Second Letter Designates the Minor Version of the OS.
Third Letter Designates the Current revision of the Minor.

To but this into Perspective the Newest ROM in the JP region is JPY equivalent to J25.32

The Problem is more than likly fixed but you don't have the latest Rom because either your carrier didn't approve it for your phone yet.

The point is the newer the version the more bugfixes and improvements they are.

The JS5 is extremely snappy version with very few problems if any.

So the Problem is politics.

Peace.
