- When I create an event from the calendar and I set the alarm for that event, I get just a notification but not the alarm.

- I have another question: when I set a wake up alarm with a smart alarm, it rings with the normal ring tone but not with the smart alarm tone.

Just for curiosity: if I try to set "Alarm type" from "Sound" in "Set alarm" menĂ¹ it opens a window with: Melody, Vibration, Vibration and melody, Voice. Which is the difference between theese settings, in particular Melody and Voice?

Thanks!

I found an answer about my second question in this topic: http://www.samsunggalaxysforum.com/samsung-galaxy-s-how-to/smart-alarm/

Does anybody know any suggestion about my first question?

I am facing the same problem and, even worse, I don't even know about the smart alarm !

What is it and how do you access it ?

With regards to the calendar alarm, there is actually a sound, but it is so weak that one can miss it easily : it is like a droplet of falling water !

I don't know where this sound comes from and I don't know how to change it !

Can anyone come with suggestions ?

You can set it in "Set alarm".

Unfortunately you've encountered a UI bug. Hopefully this will be fixed in their next update to Froyo in September (along with a lot of other things they have to atone for!).

For now, if you have rooted your phone or are willing to, there's a fix described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=714948&highlight=calendar+notification

How you choose an alarm sound alarm on the calendar? Or even change the notification sound? I tried it for the first time and got a feeble blip noise. I checked in the calendar application editing an appointment and nothing. The notification isn't the same as any other tone.

My HTC spoke my appointments to me and my O2 had easy to find alarm settings. I just want to choose a longer/louder tone.

Thanks Laugh

I have exactly the same problem.

I can't even start to understand what led Samsung to chose this alarm "tone" in the first place !

And I haven't been able to find where it comes from (file, folder, whatever...).

Incredible !

If your device is rooted, we can change that audio (22_on_time.ogg) file.

Hello, I just changed from my NokiaE71 to Samsung Galaxy S.
I like this new phone but i noticed that the Calender Notification is not as good as Nokia.
First of all, the Volume for the Calender notification is very low & is does not repeat if not dismissed. ( so its easy to miss your appointments ).
Can someone tell me how to change the Notification tone for the calender ?
Increasing the notification volume is not helping me with issue and also is there any way the notification can repeat like in the Nokia phones ?
Thanks in Advance.

Read HERE, reply #8.

NoLED is just an app, showing you there's a notification. I don't think it'll do anything to the sound.
