Hello,

We have been working hard on Pinball Deluxe for the last few months and it is almost ready to go. While it plays and looks great, we are doing a beta to get more first impressions and find possible bugs.

The beta for the game requires Android 2.1, a multi-touch screen and 480x600 or better resolution (but since we are here, all of this is a given). In fact, it supports up to 600x1024 so it takes full advantage of tablet screen, if you want to try it there. There are 3 tables and all the traditional pinball fixings.

I've included a scaled down screenshot at the bottom of the post to give you an idea of what the game looks like. If you want more information or screenshots, head over to http://www.pinballdeluxe.com. To download the apk directly, try http://www.pinballdeluxe.com/storage/Pinball2.apk. We would love to hear about your impressions of the game.

for me the game play is too uneven to make it worthwhile playing even in beta - unexpected momentary freezes, sudden massive speedups, often slow and laggy.  Having unlimited balls is a tad irritating and not having an easy pause /call up menu option is also - though i assume these things will be sorted for full release.

Carnival seemed to me to be the most afflicted.  The Space Frontier table responded much better for me though it still had mimentary freezes and  the Left flipper had a lag that cost me balls.  Diving For Treasure was more even playing than Carnival and perhaps Space Frontier and both flippers were evenly responsive but underpowered.  In fact with both Carnival and Diving For Treasure i don't think i was able to flipper the balls up to the top of the table.

Having said all that, i can see what a gorgeous game this will be when finally released - the actual game play seems to be very good aproximation of how i remember actual machines being.  I'm looking forwards to your final release, it's a game i'll be happy to pay for

Ok, thanks for letting me know. So far, that choppiness problem seams to appear only the first time the game is ran after the installation and only on Samsung devices. We are looking into it.

Thanks khsharpe for the detailed report. The fact that the problems you encountered seemed sustained over a longish period of play is new. As for the gameplay in general, without the choppiness you'd have been able to get the ball up the tables no problem. We are working on those problems.

since your post above i revisited the game (first time i played continuously after download but didn't log off / log back on.)  Carnival and Spaace Frontier were much improved but still had freezes, the flipper action balanced and strong enough to get to the top of the table ...
playable bur not quite compelling yet
: -)
but ...
Diving For Treasure went down the gurgler - was like a stop motion animation with now where near enough animation
: -(

but i'm still seriously lookng forwards to the final release, i think you're on a winner

Thanks to everyone who downloaded the beta application, your feedback has been really helpful. We did find some problems that were impacting the performance, so you can expect it to be really smooth when it comes out on the 27th.
