Samsung KIES update error! need help !

hello people,first post so go easy on me Angel

Ok so when I tried to install some apps to my galaxy S via KIES(software) it tells me to update my software(KIES)...so when I tried to update it,an error message pops up saying

Internet is not connected
do you want to check the connection and try again?

but my internet is working perfectly,and when I clicked retry it keeps on doing it(its stuck on 4%..waited for like 2 hours but nothing) ...what do y'all reckon the problem is?

You don't have to update Kies to use it. And I've found Kies is very slow to download, I suspect it's not on a great server. The network error doesn't have to be at your end

The problem is that I cannot even access Sumsung Apps through Kies. It demands first to update the Kies. May be I should forget about using this.

The apps that I saw available thru kies were not for android. For the android apps tap the Samsung Apps icon in the applications menu.

Strange! I'm also counter this problem.
I thought was my internet problem.
