ALRIGHT, first post.
There are two hardware variants.
The i9100 and the i9103.
The i9100 will use their in house CPU/GPU SoC with the SAMOLED+ display.
The i9103 will use nVidias Tegra 2 SoC (which is excellent), with a SLCD display.
The i9100 will be released in the UK and North America.
The i9103 will be released everywhere else.
In theory.
And as for "why would samsung ever sell something to apple?"
Take a look at who makes the memory and processors for the past iPhones/iPods. All samsung.
And who makes the display? LG, I believe...
Apple doesn't actually MAKE anything. They just get other peoples stuff and glue it together.

BUT people buy their aluminum cased stuff cause it's trendy and hip and whatnot, at a price premium no less! And in a way it's good, since the companies that make our real big boy products receive money in large amounts no matter what.

Anyways, unless you live in an undesirable part of the world, we'll all likely be rocking out with our 4.3 inch SAMOLED+ display, dual core, thinnest phone ever in a while. Me later than some, as I am in Canada.
