A very compelling argument that make me think twice about going back to Nokia:

http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/22/editorial-dear-nokia-you-cannot-be-serious/

N9 Spec Sheet : http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_n9-3398.php

N900 Spec Sheet: http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_n900-2917.php

I9000 Spec Sheet: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9000_galaxy_s-3115.php

If you compare the CPU/GPU combo you can see a that the N900 and N9 use the same GPU and CPU but the CPU is clocked to 1Ghz.

The I9000 and N9 are closely related spec wise, but I9000 specs are dated.

I think the reason they didn't go with dual core is becuase Meego has been fully polished and tested on a single core.  In which case I don't mind becuase according to this article it seems that they are using the latest Single core offereing by T.I.

But when you look at this wiki page, it is hard to imagine that this page was made by anyone else except Nokia itself. If you read the section about Software and if you read the Engadget Article it is hard to smell anything else but deciet.

Even then, I may still buy the N9 as I miss the plush Maemo interface on the N900 and the full fledged Linux experiance.

Peace.

The only thing I've heard bad about the N9 is that you'd better like it as is because there will be no further updates. Other than that, it's pretty sweet. Shame they are going all WP7. Guess that's what happens with an ex-MS guy comes on board.

That's not completly true, as with the N900 the community develops the software furthur and Maemo is still alive and strong.

The possibilities of Meego are great too bad, if they don't develop it further.

Meego trumps Android and iOS like flies, as it's a full fledged Linux Distro.

What that means is it is not a mini OS but instead Meego is Desktop OS streamlined to run on smaller devices.

Peace.

I stand corrected Smile

It does look like a great device, Nokia clearly could have done at least as well as WP7 with Meemo.

I appreciate your outlook, I was thinking too ideally, you are correct in saying that the N9 will do at least as well as WP7.

As the people who will buy nokia henceforth will be Ultra Fans or Brand loyalists who don't even know what symbian is.

The Meego community will be very strongly inclined on the purchase as well, but it is very shaky right now.

Let's see.

Peace.
