I think that's been mentioned before but looking at that back, I wonder if it's grippier since it doesn't look shiny.

The one mentioned is a 3000 mAh

i use an App/Widget called Battery Left. According to it, I'm getting an average of 11 hours on a charge. That's with being on the phone for about 3 hours, doing about and hour of so of web browsing or using the IP Camera app. I'm also polling 8 email accounts every 5 minutes, and running a Aquarium live wallpaper.

I didn't condition this battery right out of the gate like I usually do by deep cycling it 3 times. I'm not happy with the battery life at all, especially coming from a BlackBerry Bold 9700. I could have that thing off the charger for like 2 days doing heavy talking on the phone.

I'm actually actively looking for a second battery. Ideally I'd like an hi-cap. If anyone hears of any of the two, please post.

Anyway, decided to take the gamble and ordered some batteries from a company in Hong Kong through eBay.  Wasn't expecting much, but it was only £8.45 with free P&P for a pack that was supposed to include:

1 x USB Wall Battery Charger (US Standard)
1 x UK Standard Plug Adapter
  1 x USB Hotsync & Charger Cable
  2 x Spare Battery (1500mAh)
  3 x Free Screen Protector

I have used these batteries for a while now, and they do seem to run out a little faster than the original battery (though Im not totally sure), but they are more than worth their money, as they are perfect as back up batteries.  Got one in my jacket, and one in my bag, and might even buy another set, so I always have a spare one available.

Not sure if they are good enough to be a replacement battery, but for this price they are definitely good enough as back up.

I often have the need to recharge twice a day as well, but I'm still deciding which battery I should buy, was actually interested in the Galaxy S Battery Charger with Stand but they didn't enlist the i9000 as a compatible device for it Sad

Has anyone tried this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-Innocell-3000mAh-Extended-Captivate/dp/B004G0RZ1C/ref=sr_1_24?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1293462029&sr=1-24

I wonder if it really lasts twice as one single  battery.

You need to understand that your 5800 wasn't online on 3G all the time.

Your Galaxy is supposed to be online 24/7 by default where as the 5800 is online when necessary.

The 5800 Battery is rated at 1320 mAh 3.7V
Where as the galaxy comes at 1500 mAh 3.7V

You can set your phone up so it does the same as your 5800. Turn off 3G for when you need it.

Peace.

Hi,

I have the 3000mAh double battery from Amazon and I love it. It genuinely is twice the battery life. I hadn't realised just how much I was actively avoiding using device in order to save the battery - with this new battery I use the device all the time and it really has come alive!

I leave Squicker (FourSquare) running all the time, suf and navigate whenever I feel like it.

Adds as much value to the device as a 16gig sd card :-)

I have the same. A lot of people don't like the thickness n stuff, but you can do everything and nothing must be turned off. Glad someone agrees with me.
