My phone needs to be charged atleast twice a day.
If I am not around a charger its all over.

I took a tip off a forum to buy a second battery and charge it using a clip charger.
I bought both off amazon and this solution works well.

I would recommend this battery http://www.amazon.com/Capacity-Lithium-Ion-EB575152VA-Captivate-Fascinate/dp/B0041IWZLE/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1284180888&sr=8-5

I got it for my Captivate but also works for other versions Vibrant, Epic 4G, and Fascinate.
It works as good as the origianl so i'm happy

Twice a day?  Wow I can use mine for calling, gaming and browsing about 5 hours solid 'screen time' (that being the biggest drain) before it dies.  After the initial "screwing with it all of the time" period has passed it's usually at 60-70% at the end of the day.  A couple of hours of streaming radio (with the screen mostly off), a bit of browsing, a few texts/e-mails, some short calls.

You use it 10 hours a day (or does your battery die quicker)?  If so then yes a 2nd battery is definitely for you, but man you have alot of time on your hands to use your phone lol.

I've considered a second battery for trips but I got a USB power pack instead.  It's a bit of a pain though to have it hooked up though, so to those looking at this problem (and don't want to charge any other USB devices) I'd go with the battery.

I use my phone as an MP3 Player also.
I stream Pandora for about 10 hours a day at work.

After work I am playing on it surfing the web and playing apps.
I am using my phone more then I use the computer now.

Also if anyone else wants to do the same thing and get a second battery I would pick up this clip charger http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00428ZOT8

You can charge the battery outside the phone and also charge the phone at the same time with the USB Port.

When carrying the battery around I would get a case or a non-static bag to protect the contacts for dirt and moisture.

Noticed the cellphoneshop version is only 1200mAh where the Amazon version is 1500mAh.
Also looks like a generic how does your battery hold up?

Always scared to use a non brand label battery in my device in case that it destroys the phone.

Cell Zeus: I agree I won't buy a battery without a brand label.
I have had a battery melt the back of my phone because it over heated.

pnjunction: Also if your phone dies after making a phone call you should return the phone sounds like a warranty issue not a power issue. The phone has a manufacturer warranty and should be covered on defects.

hmm - haven't gotten it yet but at the price I'm not too worried. It really would be a backup. I'm rarely that far from a charge point.

I got my spare battery from the cellphone shop. It works just fine, shorter life because it's 1200mAh instead of 1500 but it truly is a back up battery. Doesn't heat up or anything. After reading a bunch of reviews at XDA I've ordered a bundle that includes a desk top charging dock, battery and leather case from Spider-foot.com. My sister - in - law has a Galaxy S as well so some of it will be gifted:)

Hi, all.  I got my Fascinate the day that it was released (September 9) and love it.  They must not be selling well at Verizon because now you can basically get one free.

At any rate, the OEM battery seemed a bit anemic and I was not willing to wait for the Android 2.2 release for longer battery life.  So, I bought a genuine Samsung extended battery 2500 mh and cover for my phone.  CellularAccessory.com--$23.95 for the battery and $5.95 for the cover.  It increases the thickness in the bottom half of the body to about twice that of the stock battery.  It is literally a double battery.  Battery life is great.
It does make the phone a bit chunkier on the bottom and a bit heavier.  Actually, I like the feel of it.  The thing is that the nice leather case that Verizon sells specifically for the phone no longer fits!  Yeah, I can cram it in there, but it would be a tight fit for a long time.  I have ordered some other cases that I believe will fit it with the extended battery and I will post it here when I figure out which one works best.

Of course, pix would help...I took some pretty good ones.

Now, I cannot figure out how to insert them here.  They are sitting on my computer desktop, but cut and paste does not work as I had thought that it might.

I know that I can use Insert Image above somehow, but all that is get is .

How do I put the jpg in between the two [img]s?  Or do I??

There's 2 methods of attaching pictures here...

1 ) You can attach it from the bottom of "Post reply"...

2 ) Upload your picture to www.tinypic.com (or any other file hosting sites like photobucket)...

copy the link and paste it directly in the message window...
