I think, it was Android system recovery 3E. (see the attached file)
Try this:
- remove the battery.
- press and hold vol. down+home+power and slide the battery in.
waiting for feedback.
If it doesn't help, get a
JIG.
I tried this but that menu did not come up, only the "downloading... do not turn off target" mode. I need to be able to reboot because I don't have an external SD and there are sentimental photos/videos of a friend who has passed away.
Help...
As you have important data on the phone memory, I can suggest 2 possible ways of doing this:
Option 1)
Using Odin, flash new software to the phone to get it working again, plug it into a pc in USB Mass Storage Mode, and use Piriform Recover software (free) to try and recover the lost photos/video as they will almost certainly be deleted.
No guarantee on how much can be recovered, might be all, might be nothing or anything in between.
Option 2)
Please note this is based on you having Gingerbread software on the phone(I9000 model), and being able to access Download and Recovery modes:
Also, as there is already an issue with the phone, there are no guarantees that trying to flash new kernel with be successful or that it will not make the phone worse.
Go to
http://www.semaphore.gr/kernels/Semaphore_2.5.0scbm.tar to download the semaphore kernel for gingerbread
Using Odin install this kernel to your phone
The kernal includes CWM which is a modified version of the recovery mode with far more options.
Enter Recovery mode by powering up using volume up & home & power.
plug the phone to your pc with usb.
One of the extra options of the CWM Recovery is 'Mounts & Storage', select this, then select mount usb.
After a few seconds, the phone storage will be available to access on your pc, the same as though the phone was started normally and plugged in using USB Mass Storage Mode, you can then safely copy your files from the phone storage to your pc.
Once done, you can send the phone for repair or flash new software yourself.
Hope this is of help, please pm me if you need any further advise such as using Odin.
