Hi, I just recently got a galaxy s from my brother, and in order to properly set up my accounts had to do a factory reset. Now the problem is that My market place icon is missing! I can't find it. It's definitely not on the phone and I've tried looking elsewhere online, but all other missing marketplace issues seem to have to do with froyo.

Now I've tried doing another factory reset, but it's still missing. Can someone help please?

Try a Soft Reset

Settings -> Privacy -> Factory Reset.

If you still don't get it then Download it from here.

Copy the apk to your Phone and use My Files App to locate and run it.

I've already done another factory reset, and it hasn't worked.

Also, how would I install the apk? Would I need to copy it to the SD card?
Second point, since I don't have the market place, IDK how I would get the app.

Finally, I'm also having a problem with multimedia msgs and the phone just seems off in general, so I'm actually gonna uninstall the OS and replace it with a generic one, do you know how I would do that?

your is the M variant so that would be a bad Idea

Download the Apk from the Link I provided.

Copy it to your phone using the Mass Storage Mode

and the use an App Called "My files" on your phone to locate and run the apk file.

Your Multimedia problem is because you don't have APN setting ask your carrier to provide them
