Ok, this has been driving me nuts since yesterday.  I've been having choppy mp3/wma/etc playback for some unknown reason.  I can't figure out what it is - I don't recall any changes i've made in the last few days but the problem appeared last night on the train ride home.  I've removed apps that i no longer use, tried playing back from multiple media players, tried playing back from the internal and external sd card, rebooted, pulled the battery etc etc and the problem is still there.

CPU usage isn't high.  The only way to make the problem go away is to have the thing plugged into the power - once it's unplugged, choppy playback re-emerges instantly.

I've taken a video clip and played that back and there are no audio/video issues.

Anyone experienced any similar issues?

I'm running 2.3.3 (Optus AU firmware)
