Hi.
I was wondering, if i install a custom rom, will it delete everything on the internal sd card?  I have rom manager and have taken a backup of my current rom but if rom manager gets deleted during a rom installation then how would i be able to restore?

Is it possible to copy the backup files to your external memory card. After your ROM installation, install the ROM Manager again and put the backup back to its original folder?

Okay so it does delete everything on the internal sd card. Then i have to go out and buy a micro sd card. Is it just that simple, just install the apps again and copy the data from external to internal?

Didn't know you don't have a SD Card, but you don't have to have one. If you can connect it to your PC, then just save it on your PC.

Just to be save, make a sample backup and save it to your PC, then delete the backup file on your device.
From your device's ROM Manager, check that the sample backup is not there.
Copy back the backup into its original folder and verify again with the ROM Manager.  Wink Wink

Thanks.
I did that and rom manager did not complain.  So now to be sure i would actually have to try to restore after a random rom installation.  Can you tell me if there is a different reboot recovery  mode on the sgs?  I mean when the phone is in recovery mode i should get the option to make a Nandroid backup, but i do not have that option. Is something i install to get?

I don't have much experience with ROM Manager, but I think you have to go into recovery from within ROM Manager.
