Hi Guys'

I am having problems' with kies. I am using version 2.0.0.11032_12 and have installed all the drivers and am using Windows 7 Home Premium. KIes detects the phone correctly and under Tools/Firmware Upgrade Settings the 'Latest firmware auto download' checkbox is checked. When I click on the phone icon it shows the default screen you are all probably familiar with, but it only lists the current firmware. Twice it has listed that there is new firmware available and I have tried to install it but it fails'. Now the now firmware and the install button never shows up, no matter how many times I reboot or disconnect/re-connect the phone. Is there an existing thread on this? Or is there a way to force kies to check for firmware upgrades? I don't wish to use odin or other ROMs' as this is a business phone and I need to keep everything pretty standard.

thankyou,

synack

I had the same problem too. Kies would not recognize my Galaxy even though I could look at the files on the phone using windows explorer (windows xp). In the end I switched to my wife's computer (Windows 7) downloaded Kies.

It worked perfectly and the phone update went without a hitch.

Good luck
