I'm having big problems with Samsung Galaxy S.
Australia, Virgin Mobile which uses the (terrible) Optus network.
The phone started doing strange things a year ago.
1 It changed the background by itself
2 It freezes at least once a day
3 It switches itself off at least once a day
4 The battery really overheats when it having these problems
People say it might need a Firmware upgrade. Current version is I9000DTJP5/I9000XSAJP4/I9000DTJP3/I9000DTJP5
My previous version of KIES didn't say it needed an upgrade.
So I installed latest version of KIES this week on home (Windows XP) and work (Windows 7) PCs.
The first time I connected the phone to new KIES at home it told me that I needed a Firmware upgrade (upgrade was available a year ago) and began the download.
The computer tells me I need more memory on the phone for the upgrade to take place (needs ~3G but there is 15G on the phone internal memory. . .)
So this game happens a few times....
Now KIES at both work and home recognise the phone and the old Firmware currently on the phone but say nothing about an upgrade and I can't make it manually upgrade (I've rebooted everything, taken battery out, removed external storage).
Also, when I reboot the home computer it gives me a message saying the Firmware upgrade has been downloaded and is ready to install but I can't find where on the computer the download is.
As an aside, the internet connection on home PC has stopped working, don't know the above problems caused it.
HELP PLEASE !!
