Greetings. Purchased my phone in Saudi Arabia when was working there last year; it was all locked up tight - no market, no apps other than the Quran etc; this site here got me through that and the update to the latest software version so I was thankful for the help.
But I have noticed two things of late:
(1) Power Drain
(2) external usb mounting/dismounting.
I put the external USB into my PC to try and copy the files. I kept getting the error from Mr. XP: "cannot copy, path too deep."
I loaded up my linux partition given Mr. XPs crankiness and after manually mounting and unmounting the card a few times I was able to rescue all the data on the card - (about 10 GB of movies on a 16 GB card).
I suppose the card unmounting all the time forced scan after scan of its contents; perhaps this explains the power drain? I turned off the 3g/wifi/ etc and I uninstalled a few apps that I had recently installed but the power drain was still going on - it was these facts that lead me to think problems 1 and 2 above were not unrelated.
Not sure if the card is damaged or not or if the phone is doing something strange. Its back in the phone now and I am going to keep an eye on it; I ran some scans on the card when in the PC and nothing popped up.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is this a generally known symptom of a failing USB card? I had never seen the 'path too deep' error in XP before this...
