I have a Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 (YP-G1), with Gingerbread 2.3.5, not rooted or modified in any way.
I had no problems with data transfer until yesterday. Long story short, I plugged the USB cable in, and the device notified me that Bluetooth was activated and asked me something like "Do you still want to continue?", and I accidentally pressed "No". As soon as I pressed it, it returned to home screen and my PC showed me the message "USB device not recognized etc." Now everytime I plug the cable, it shows that message. The device makes that " plugged in" sound, the battery charges, but I can't do data transfer, neither through Kies nor through Windows, because nothing happens that could let me do it. Kies does not recognize it either. Of course, I tried changing all kinds of settings, but nothing helped.
The funny thing is, I read some solutions on the internet, and I tried cleaning the mini USB slot with a toothbrush. After that, the device DID enter data transfer mode after being plugged in, but only for 3-4 seconds, and then it stopped working again...
What to do?
