How do I upload pics from phone to pc? The pc is picking up the device but the phone seems to be importing photos from my pc rather than showing me what's on the phone for me to upload.

WHat are you using to make the link? Samsung USB cable and Kies or other?

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS take advantage of having Google on your phone! Save all contacts to GMail and they never get lost, wiped, replaced etc.

Titanium Backup for apps and data. SMS Backup & Restore for messages.

If you have any questions, please do a search before posting a new thread and if you can't find anything, then try to put the new thread into the correct forum.

Well it sounds like you've got the right drivers but it may be worth re installing then if you still have trouble after my suggestion.

I've stopped using Kies completely. After initially joining, I was notified of an update and followed the process. After my phone re booted, it was connecting to Kies fine. Left a few days and then came back to backup and what not but all I was getting was a constant "connecting" status by my phone. I tried pretty much everything to try and re connect and in the end, gave up.

I decided to stick what I've always used with some of my older/previous phones... Mass Storage.

This in turn, turns your phone into a USB device. If you're unsure how to do this, you go to SETTINGS, WIRELESS & NETWORKS, USB SETTINGS and check the circle marked "Mass Storage".

Next time you connect your phone to your PC, if the autoplay doesn't automatically register your device, you should find it in "My Computer" marked as drives. Simply double click the desired drive (sd and external sd) and you're in.

Hope this helps!

Karma, many thanks for your help. I've now managed to get the pics from the camera to my pc. It was quite complicated compared to my last phone. I'm not into all the gadgetries I rarely use my phone for photos but if I do I wanted to upload them without too much hassle.

I was however ssurprised to find many folders on this phone most of them empty, but I did recover the old photos that were transfered from my last phone.

I know very little about the Kies function, I had to install it to get the correct driver but have now uninstalled it.

BTW the name Leadscout is from my military days,,,,,,,:-)

Yeah, sorry. Was a joke... Didn't work...

You will find a lot of folders but it's best to stay away from them and stick to the external sdcard if you are unaware of their purposes.
With the external sdcard, you can create and delete folders as you wish but if you ever do find something else in there, best to leave it alone or you may find yourself with unusable apps or lack or sound etc.

Anyhow, glad I could help!

Akhtar.
