Has anyone had the speaker on their Galaxy S go dead?  The sound is on, the volume is set as high as it can go, but no sound.  Not even when I turn on or turn off the phone.

Is there sound if you use earphones or a headset? Have you tried pulling the battery for a few minutes? It's hard to know if it's a physical problem or just an electrical glitch.

sound is thr in headphone !! not in the speaker !!!

i did  like that removing the battery and on aftr an hour nor wrking !!!!!

i think its an ringer problem

Sounds like your speaker is broken somehow (as opposed to an electrical glitch that just put it out of commission)

I started this thread a while back.  The speaker on my phone just stopped working.  I took the battery out twice, the second time for 30 minutes, but no change.  So after a few days, I took it in to get it fixed and while I was standing in line with my phone on, it all of a sudden started working again.  Very strange.  Luckily, I have had no problem since.  It's a mystery with a happy ending.  I hope yours does the same.

My speaker just died yesterday. I have no sound from the speaker at all. This is the 4g galaxy and it is only 2 months old. I determined it was a hardware problem by playing a song and tapping on the speaker. If you hear a crackle or the sound comes back on for a moment them you know for sure. Hope this helps.

Mine just stopped working yesterday.  Is there a fix or do I need to have the geek squad at Best Buy take a look?  Can they do anything?  If anyone has had their speaker "fixed" would you please let me know.  I really don't want to waste my time "waiting" while it's being serviced if there really is nothing that can be done.  Thanks for any help.

 I too am having a dead speaker problem... in fact, I have had a series of problems with this phone, and I'm very discouraged about Samsung phones because of this. This phone just seems so problematic.

Now: Sound works with headphones, but not thru speaker. Someone please post an answer how to fix if possible, or is this thing finally done?

me too....i'm having the same problem with the speakers on my phone. can only listen to sound when headset is connect. it stopped working when i paired blutooth with another phone....any solutions yet forum members?  please please please.

Hello everyone!
I had the speaker problem on my galaxy s and I tried everything.  I finally went to eBay and ordered the internal speaker in the phone and paid $8.48 shipping included. The title was "Black Ringer Buzzer Speaker Flex Cable +Tools for Samsung i9000 Galaxy S ZVFC402".  The part came in 2 weeks. 

In the mean time I went to youtube and found a video on how to take apart a galaxy s phone.  I watched it until it got to the part on where the speaker was located after taking the cell phone apart.  It only took minutes to do it.  The speaker comes out easily with a little patience.  Be careful when you take it apart...the on/off button could easily fall out and be lost if you drop it.  Once I had it back together, the speaker worked perfect!! 

I suppose that some people might not be mechanically inclined and this could be very difficult if you don't do it carefully.
