Currently, the screen on my Galaxy S Vibrant doesn't turn on. The battery is fully-charged.

What happens is the menu and back buttons light up when I touch them, even though the screen isn't on. When I press the menu button nothing happens.
I tried holding the power button down to restart it and it restarted. Samsung logo, sound, the whole start-up went as it did when I first turned it on. Then, the screen turns off and nothing happens. I, again, press the power button but it doesn't turn on.
Also, when I charge the battery the screen turns on and I see the battery charging stuff.

I'm on Virgin mobile

Can you try the second method to see if it recovers - or even shows that screen?

The same thing happened: start-up screen with sound, then black screen.

Have you applied Lagfix of any kind? or modded the phone.

The only time I have seen symptom like this is with Voodoo Lagfix.

Have your tried to flash a non-vibrant Rom to the phone?

What Rom Build are you on currently?

What did you do different since this problem started occurring?

Can you try the second method to see if it recovers - or even shows that screen?

Just to confirm. I am to assuming you have done a Reset.   Cool

Peace.

Dean the hone is screen resistant, meaning it is MORE resistant to scratches then one without it.

You should have taken better care of it.

I don't know what the gorilla glass is made of, different plastics need different ways to fix it.

I am sorry I can't help you, but since it's only the gorilla glass, ask Samsung for how much that is, or just the front fascia. I am sure you can buy either of the two.

It shouldn't cost a furtune, a full case on a nokia costs around 100$, I would assume just the front fascia costs 30$ on a nokia, so Samsung should be charging in a very similar amount.

Ok I found a link, do note that this is probably not the Gorilla Glass.

Ask Samsung for it, if they don't you can go with the link.

Peace.

Dear singh, after tedious effort to remove the scratches on my screen,i have given up now, after using the car wax,it only get worse.lots of swirl marks on it.so sad that i have to send it back to samsung again for replacement of touch panel,im not sure if that could be done but that was exactly what the samsung man told me,it will be in for 2 weeks,he said there is no need for a lcd replacement.only a touch panel replacement will do.please advise me in this.tq bro ,u have been a great help so far.

How much are they quoting you?

Weigh the Price of the original and the fake and see how you wish to proceed.

I mean you are the one who will have to live with the decision not me.

It will be easy for me to say get the fake one, but I have no experience with the fake screen it may ruin the experience, or you may not be able to tell the difference and save quite a bit.

Where as if you get the original you have to give your phone away for 2 weeks and pay what I assume is a higher sum.

Peace.

I don't know if it's separable, you should ask Samsung.

I have read conflicting reports some say it is other say it isn't.

It would make sense for it to be stuck. And From what I understand the SAMOLED Is very thing so taking it apart if it is stuck will be next to impossible.

Looking at
and this, it does seem that they are stuck.
