To clarify, does this problem happen when you have no head phones on?

Can you dial *#1234# into the dialer and post it here.

Peace.

The headphones you tried instead that are in question.

Were they standard headphones or the ones that have music player abilities or mic built in?

Taking a picture of the mic may print a clearer picture.

Peace.

Ok that is the problem,

Get some standard 3.5 Headphones like these:

Strange headphone problem

I bought these for 3 KD ~ 10$ they work perfect.

The problem is you are using proprietary headphones with special functions, which are not supported by the I9000.

Plus you get headphones with the phone have you tried those?

Peaece.

Ahh you are right, I never used the ones that came into the box I just opened the box and looked in they are the same.

Please try different Headphones, just to rule it out.

Peace.
