What are my options other than doing a factory reset, if I'm in the TwLauncher "force close" loop? This has happened before, and I reset, and now it's back - less than two weeks later.

I understand that resetting it will fix the issue, I just don't want to do it over and over again. It takes me awhile to set up my phone each time, so resetting it is frustrating and time consuming. I haven't installed any 3rd party launchers (as I suspected that was the issue last time), and I haven't flashed or rooted or anything like that.

I figured it out!

Use your google voice helper on your phone and go to google.

Then go to the android market website

Type in application manager- a pop up will ask u if u want to use marjet or the web, use your market. Its the only way you will be able access the market on your phone.

Download:  Android System Info

Open App, Navigate to the "task" tab

Scroll down to "twlauncher" click it and click "manage" then "clear data"

You will be back up and running after that!

I apologize, I should I specified in my original post that I tried this - along with all the other suggestions on getting past the force close pop up to the applications settings. I was successful the first time this happened, trying this method, but not the second time.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by your first 2 questions, I'm relatively new to the Android phones - though I have some experience with other smartphones.

Here's some info that might be what you're looking for:

Firmware: 2.2.1
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9
Build number: FROYO.EC05

When I turned on my phone for the first time, from the Sprint store, it upgraded twice. So I'm not sure if I had the issue before the upgrade as I wasn't able to use the phone post-upgrade.

No, when my phone was having issues I tried to use Kies, but it kept telling me my device was not connected properly. The update was done over-the-air.

Have you tried Launcher Pro (Plus) instead of TW launchers?
You can grab from Market.

Yes, I ended up going to a 3rd party launcher.

So as far as everyone is aware, there is no way to get out of the force close loop without factory resetting (minus the voice search option, which did not work for me)?

thanks Ifigureditout, your solution works like a charm. Was going to reflash my phone but first wanted to try your alternative. It works.
