thnx for da replies, guys *sarcasm* (all in good taste, tho)

just tell me this much, could interference from, say, a magnetic field do it? (like if my phone is lying next to my tv while charging, could da tv's magnetic field interfere with my phone?)

i ask this becuz i noticed it made my ps3 reboot when my phone was near it for a while (even tho they were separated by 1 cm of wood)

'cos I don't have your phone or live in your area - otherwise I would have.

I've never thought of a TV as having a strong EMF but high end speakers would - do you have 5.1 sound?

Magnetic, one way or another, sure have some interference with the Galaxies. If you have a "Compass" (application) on your device, you'll see that it will be affected.

Though I'm not sure whether this causes your device (and PS3) to reboot, but try not to charge/put it near them for some time and see if the unintended reboots still occur.

Then, if you're kind enough to share, post the result here for other members to take precaution.

i've been doing that the past couple of nights - i charge my phone overnight at the top of that tv trolley with my ps3 (still too close) switched off from the back. no random reboots just yet
i also deleted the advanced task killer, if it's possible that would've helped (i read somewhere you didn't need a task killer for android now)

Yes, I ditched my paid Advance Task Killer some times ago. Now on 2.3.3, with normal use, my battery lasted 2 whole days.

I never used a task killer but they are definitely the source of random reboots, from what I've read, as they stop apps from working as intended.

2.3.3, omnian? either you have a different version of the Galaxy S or someone forgot to tell me when gingerbread officially released on the i9003

anyway, i've never had trouble with battery, but i did read that task killers cause random reboots. oh well, i never used that thing much anyway

thanks for the help i finally got, guys!

and on another interesting note, all the icons and widgets on my home-screens were duplicated (so there was an astrid widget right on top of where i had an astrid widget before and an opera mobile icon over the opera mobile icon)

this is weird...

Weird indeed.

Do you mind to give it a Factory Reset and Format the Internal Memory?

BTW, yes my device, which is stated in my sig, is different from yours.
