I hope there isn't a thread on this already, I backtracked a little and couldn't find one. Anyway, I have an issue with my phone since I upgreaded to Gingerbread 2.3.5 (darky rom).

The battery life on both of my batteries has been reduced dramatically. I sometimes can't make it through 6 hours, while doing nothing but surfing the web. I first suspected the batteries, even though it seemed unlikely for two to start sucking at the same time.

But then I was recently out of the country for a few days and left it in airplane mode and it was fine for 3 1/2 days. I realize of course that airplane mode uses much less power than having cell and 3g activated, but the difference shouldn't be THAT big. Also, I used to be able to use my phone for about a day with heavy usage including games and video.

Can anyone tell me if this is a known issue? Should I flash a different firmware? Any hints are much appreciated.

Oh yeah, here are my stats:

Firmware version: I9000XXJVS
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9000XXJVS-CL565837ficeto@beast#DarkCore_4.0_JVS
Build number: GINGERBREAD.XXJVS

I have not had this issue, but I think you can reset or recalibrate your battery. Sometimes when flashing different roms and kernels, the battery goes out of sync. Get an app to reset or recalibrate the batteries.
